No matter what you want to achieve in life, it may be to lose weight or put on weight, run your first marathon, grow muscle, or even non body related; buy your dream car, get the job you’ve always wanted, travel the world, whatever it is just know YOU CAN HAVE IT! The secret is all in your mindset.
In 2014 I woke up one day & decided to change my life for the better. I felt paralyzed, lethargic, like an 80yr old women with sore hips & knees, out of breath walking up stairs, and I was only 28 at the time. It was that which made me get up and want to get HEALTHY.
To be honest in the beginning it was never about weight loss, I actually didn’t think I could lose weight – I was always told its hereditary or I was big boned. So, I was like cool – I’m big, I’m fat, I’m obese, now let me get on with my life – and what a life I’ve lived. But I decided I wanted to get better for years to come, improve my health and fitness, and that is exactly what I did.
The weight loss was secondary, to changing how I felt on the inside, treating my body right. I’ve always loved the skin I’m in, its just a hell of a lot healthier, fitter, stronger and even more full of life now.
Loving myself first is key. Everyday I wake up and I’m happy with what I see and how I feel no matter what, cause I am me. Just cause you want to change things about yourself it doesn’t mean you hate on yourself. Never get the 2 confused. Change can come because you want to improve and see your full potential. Embrace yourself, work with yourself and love the journey.
That to me is the key to everything you desire. If you are focused, persistent and consistent to work hard, and stay dedicated to the goal, not letting others distract you, using all the willpower you create inside you, your goals will become closer and closer until they are your reality! The mind is an incredible powerful tool we all have, its just how you use it! This was key for me on my health journey and losing 140lbs, but it wasn’t all about the weight loss, it was about changing my entire life for the better and the way I saw my years ahead knowing I held the secret to anything I wanted to achieve!
The whole process was an amazing part of my journey and it’s helped teach me discipline, routine, hard work, but most importantly it’s taught me about myself. So if you want to lose weight do it, if you want to put on weight go do that, if you want to grow muscle you can, and hell if you wanna do nothing do that too. Do what is right for you, your health, and your life. Whatever that may be will be different for everyone, so don’t judge someone else’s goals or choices. Let them be how they want to be.
